Instant Gratification
Everyone loves the instant photo. And it’s not just the quick payoff. It’s the hazy focus, the unpredictable color palette, the distinctive format, the imperfections. It’s also the nostalgia of an almost-lost art form.
I started collecting vintage Polaroids and other instant cameras several years ago, and it’s still a format I love to mess around with. For a medium that almost disappeared with the advent of digital photography, it’s resurgence in popularity has brought new interest and new tools for making these little gems.
This gallery consists of my favorites over the years, and were created using all manner of camera and film, from vintage to new and re-engineered, the classic roll-out squares to the original peel-apart format, to the wide frame and to the party-size mini.
